The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari with Original Score by Via Ferrata

Via Ferrata is a Kalamazoo based duo who make music that seeks to evoke and explore the strongest emotions possible through sound. The duo have created a live score to 1920's German silent horror film "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. 

The film is considered the quintessential work of German expressionistic cinema. It tells the story of an insane hypnotist who uses a brainwashed somnambulist to commit murders. The film features a dark and twisted visual style, with sharp-pointed forms, oblique and curving lines, structures and landscapes that lean and twist in unusual angles, and shadows and streaks of light painted directly onto the sets. This is not one to miss!
